Vesteda improves user experience thanks to self-service portal

Residential investor and landlord Vesteda was on the eve of a challenging change. In order to provide an even better service, the idea of a customer portal was launched. A portal in which self-service is the key word and an optimal user experience is central.

From challenge to result

The challenge of such a portal turned out to be only partly in the realization of the portal itself. Much greater was the challenge of integrating all the processes carried out in Vesteda's back-end systems. For this, the help of Valid was called in. Vesteda has been relying on Valid for some time, including for managed services. Valid implemented a completely new architecture that allowed Vesteda to realize the desired system integration.

The result is a platform that has the necessary intelligence. Tenants can use the My Vesteda portal to report malfunctions or repair requests. The system knows exactly which complex and which property belong to a user and knows the facilities present there. The platform offers tips and solutions to fix simple malfunctions themselves.

If help is needed, the smart fault indicator knows exactly which supplier is responsible. The fault report is automatically forwarded to the supplier, without Vesteda's intervention. This optimizes the process, saving time and reducing costs.

An agile collaboration

Through an agile approach to the project, the various components of the customer portal solution were realized in sprints. An intensive collaboration between all parties involved; three system suppliers, Valid and Vesteda itself. Intermediate deliveries of the components allowed for quick feedback on the delivered product, as a result of which the quality of the software was quickly up to standard and the customer portal was launched without any significant problems.

Valids architects and consultants not only assisted Vesteda with the implementation of the project. They also assisted the landlord to learn to think in a new way, to work and to be able to maintain the new system architecture itself.

Clout and flexibility

Vesteda thus offers better service thanks to the customer portal. At the same time, it now has a new and agile system architecture. This result illustrates the way Valid delivers added value.
