Review of our Ignite Security session: Security Copilot, AI, Exposure Management and more

In November, Microsoft hosted the biggest event of the year: Microsoft Ignite. During our live event, we generally covered the most important developments coming our way. On December 4, we organized an in-depth session on Security as a follow-up to our live event around Microsoft Ignite. In this session our experts Ferry Braeken and Tristan van Onselen went deeper into the latest developments in the field of Security, such as Security Copilot and Exposure Management.

Microsoft Security Copilot: AI as an ally in security

An important part of the session was the introduction of Microsoft Security Copilot, presented by Tristan. This tool uses AI to:

  • Proactively detect threats.
  • Automate incident management.
  • Help organizations respond more quickly and effectively to attacks.
  • Participants gained insight into how this technology can reduce the complexity of modern security tasks.

The cybersecurity landscape anno today

Tristan outlined the challenges in today's cybersecurity landscape, including:

  •  The increasing number and complexity of attacks.
  • The global shortage of qualified security personnel.
  • He emphasized how AI can play a crucial role in bridging this gap.

Exposure Management and Integration of Defender Tools.

Ferry took over and gave a detailed explanation of exposure management:

  • Identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in systems.
  • Bringing together various Microsoft Defender products to provide a holistic approach.
  • This integrated approach helps organizations proactively manage risk and close security gaps.

Zero Day Quest: a hands-on approach to better security

Ferry introduced the Zero Day Quest, an event that challenges ethical hackers to identify vulnerabilities in Microsoft systems. This initiative not only helps strengthen security, but also provides valuable insights into how threats work in practice.
